Unknown Luxury Adventures Nepal

We have shown the itinerary on the basis of a complete holiday purely for illustrative purposes. Naturally as tailor-made Nepal holiday specialists we would be happy to discuss additional options, whether it be other activities, more/less sightseeing, alternative/upgraded accommodation etc dependent upon your interests, preferences and time available. We even tailor-make a suggested 'what to pack' list for you based upon your ultimately chosen Nepal tailor-made holiday too.

Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu

Arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be met and receive a private transfer for the short distance into central Kathmandu and to your hotel. You'll be given a briefing on your forthcoming adventure, and in the evening can take dinner at your leisure in one of the many choices of cafes & restaurants in Kathmandu.

Accommodation: Dalai La Boutique Hotel - Kathmandu

Included Meals: None

Day 2 - Fly to Pokhara and a short walk to Birethanti

A private transfer to the airport for the 25 min flight to sub-tropical Pokhara. A private transfer of around an hour takes you out of Pokhara and to the start of your horseshoe circuit trek of the delightful Modi Khola Valley. Today is rather easy walking wise and a nice way to 'warm up' as you follow the ridge line through forest to then begin to descend down towards the Modi Khola River. Reaching the Sanctuary Lodge (1060m) you can explore the nearby village of Birethanti in the afternoon before perhaps enjoying a sundowner in the gardens and enjoy the sub-tropical climate. Walking time approx. less than 2 hrs with around 350m descent.

Accommodation: Sanctuary Comfort Lodge, nr. Birethanti

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 - Trek to Ghandruk

A longer walk today, but it can still be enjoyed at an unhurried pace. A well established trail follows the course of the Modi Khola upstream and begins to rise away up the hill side, passing tiny villages and terraced paddy fields along the way. The gradient increases as you then ascend via a stone-stepped trail that rises continually upwards and to Ghandruk, the principal settlement of the Annapurna region. For sure, as you climb upwards take rests along the way and enjoy the views across the valley to Macchapuchare (Fishtail). Reaching the Himalaya Lodge at Ghandruk (1940m) you can now relax and soak up the views of snow covered peaks. Walking time approx. 5-6hrs with around 890m ascent.

Accommodation: Himalaya Comfort Lodge, Ghandruk

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 - Trek to Majhgaun

A case of down, across and up today as you firstly descend to the Modi Khola River on a stone-stepped trail and cross the river by way of a small bridge. At first it's a relatively steep, but not particularly sustained climb up to Landruk. But, there's no reason to rush. There are tiny homesteads and villages along the way to enjoy too as you rise and look across to the side of the valley from whence you came as the lofty peaks of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli come into view. Reaching Landruk the gradient begins to decrease as you contour the hillside on a trail that is now more undulant in nature as you continue to Mahjgaun (1450m).Walking time approx. 5hrs with around 700m descent and 500m ascent.

Accommodation: Gurung Comfort Lodge, Mahjgaun

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 - Trek to Dhampus

Beautiful walking today as the trail rises up through dense forests of rhododendron, with occasional breaks to afford breathtaking views across to the Annapurnas. You'll walk by several small villages and cross over the Deorali Pass and then begin a steady descent to Dhampus (1500m). Walking time approx 5-6hrs, with around 600m ascent and 500m descent. Enjoy a refreshing Chai here and with great Himalayan views.

Accommodation: Basanta Comfort Lodge, Dhampus

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 - To Pokhara

Leaving the lodge behind at first the trail is virtually level as you follow the ridge line through woods and farmland, to then begin to lose height rapidly as the trail descends through the forests. Emerging by the road a private vehicle will be waiting to drive you the short distance back to Pokhara. Walking time approx.2 hrs. You should arrive back in Pokhara to take a leisurely lunch and relax for the rest of the day, reflecting back upon your short trek in the Annapurna region.

Accommodation: Waterfront Hotel - Pokhara

Included Meals: Breakfast

Day 7- Seti River

It's around a two and half hour private transfer to reach the put in point at Damauli and the Seti River. You'll receive a safety briefing, be provided with wetsuits, safety helmets and life jackets, taking what you need with you in dry bags in the raft. You'll be reunited with your main baggage at the end of the rafting. Onto the river and some very pleasant paddling along calm waters and through the jungle clad hillsides of the Seti River Valley. Now in the balmy, sub-tropical climate you should always keep a look out for colourful kingfishers and other bird life too. It's all very calm and peaceful (no roads) most of the way, although there are some fun and easy grade 2 rapids just before you reach the Ker & Downey Seti River Permanent Tented Camp. Rafting time approx. 3 hours.

Accommodation: Ker and Downey Seti River Camp

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8- Seti River & Chitwan

Back onto the waters once more to head further downstream along the beautiful Seti River for around 3 hours. Towards the end there is some whitewater (Grade 2-3) just to remind you that this is a Himalayan River. At the end point you'll then transfer to Chitwan and the very comfortable Barahi Jungle Lodge.
